This year we celebrated the 4th of July both in the mountains camping and down in the valley. On Thursday evening we drove to the Tanner's Flat campground, just 20 minutes from Rayann's parents' house, set up camp and stayed there over night. Early on Friday we headed back down to go to the Murray City parade since Janalee and Paul were participating. The kids mostly enjoyed collecting all of the candy, but occasionally cheered for some of the parade entries. We grilled hamburgers at Mom and Dad's house and had a little party with Rayann's family (minus Bryan and Reiko of course :( ) and Jodi and Ranger...complete with homemade icecream. Later that evening we headed back to the mountains and stayed there Friday night and all day Saturday. We were glad to be a little higher in elevation, but it still seemed HOT. Saturday evening it cooled off enough to play some sand volleyball on the court at the campground. The sand was awesome...really! We did a few fireworks with Uncle Lane and Aunt Kristen and boys on Sunday. Obviously we had a fun weekend, but it was all in mind of the many freedoms we are blessed with thanks to the many sacrifices of others and a loving and compassionate Father in Heaven.
