On Thursday afternoon Aiden gave us a big scare. Rayann was tutoring at Waterford and the kids were home with Justin. He was getting the kids ready to go to the grocery store and when he looked down at Aiden in his carseat, Aiden wasn't breathing (he was blue), his eyes were rolled back into his head, and he was shaking. Justin knew right away that Aiden was having a seizure, so he carefully got him out of his carseat and laid him out on the couch. About 45 seconds later he came out of it and within about 15 minutes, was back to his normal self. Justin didn't call the doctor right away, but two hours later it happened again. He called the doctor's office and they told him to call 911, which he did, and the paramedics came and took him to Alta View hospital. While at Alta View, Aiden had another siezure. The ER doctor ordered a CT scan and when that came back normal, they sent him to the ER at Primary Children's. A little while later he had another seizure. The doctors were ordering pretty much every possible test to be administered in order to rule out the possibility of infection...Everything from urin and blood tests to a spinal tap. Everything was checking out normal, but he was hospitalized so that he could be monitored and hopfully given a diagnosis. He had been given anti-seizure meds and was no longer having seizures, but it was a really long night at the hospital. The poor little guy was having some kind of hyper-activity reaction to the medication and he was MISERABLE! The next day he had an EEG...again, normal. We were released from the hospital later that night with a diagnosis that he has some kind of infant epilepsy...likely genetic because Justin also had it starting at 6 months of age. I hope we are able to find some cause for the seizures because he is on an anti-seizure medication for at least the next year. We are treating the symptom, but not the cause. Anyway, he is doing much better and is handling the new medication well. Thank you to everyone who helped us out over the course of those two crazy days. And thanks for keeping us in your prayers.

That is very scary!! Lincoln had a seizure when he was 18 months, but they couldn't figure out why he had it and he only had one. I can't imagine them having multiple ones. :( Hope that they find out ways to help the cause of his seizures soon!
oh my goodness that's so frightening! We'll keep him in our prayers.
